The Museum is governed by its Trust Board which meets bi-monthly, and is chaired by Nigel Hampton. The Museum employs a Manager (Ian Day), Custodian (Sharon Henderson) and Maintenance Supervisor (David Lewis) who live on site. The many special projects of the Museum have been carried out largely with volunteer labour, with specialists skills brought to the Museum on a contract basis as necessary. The Museum is also served by the Kāhui Korowai, a special group of volunteers who provide invaluable advice and support to the Board.
