Gun Room

Opened on Waitangi Day 2012, the Gun Room houses the gun and weapon's collection of the Museum's founder Murray Thacker collected over many years. With over 80 items dating back to 1620, this would be one of the best collection of early firearms and related equipment in New Zealand.

Some of the unique items on display include 2 Flintlock pistols dating from the late 1700s, a 5 cylinder percussion lock revolver and a William Cole of Ireland brand percussion lock pistol belonging to John Edward Thacker.
